Hyundai use hypnosis to sell the new i30
Hyundai in the Netherlands are using hypnotist Peter Powers to experiment with hypnosis to raise awareness for the new Hyundai i30. We’ve been big fans of the way Hyundai has marketed their products in the last few years, managing to change perceptions of the brand in a fraction of the time mighty VW took with Skoda. What we’re not too sure of is the latest marketing tactic being tried out by Hyundai in the Netherlands, who have enlisted the skills of hypnotist Peter Powers to create a 15 minute immersive video designed to be watched full screen on your computer – with headphones on – as Powers lets you experience the new Hyundai i30 in a whole new way.
Mercedes digs at Jaguar for EATING its Chicken
Just a few days ago we had a great video from Jaguar poking fun at Mercedes advert for Magic Body Control that featured chickens demonstrating how MBC worked. Jaguar’s response was to mimic Mercedes opening to the video but following it up with Jaguar’s big cat eating Mercedes chickens. It was a great response and we hoped it would signal a nice bit of back and forth between the Germans and the British as they each tried to outdo the other.
Audi introduced the TT Offroad concept at the Beijing motor show last week. The company says it comes with a plug-in hybrid drive system delivering 408 hp total, while getting 123.8 miles per gallon -- impressive, but we're guessing not exactly real world. To get that power, the TT Offroad concept uses the company's 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, making 292 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque.
